NJM Printing & Marketing - Entrepreneurs are Super Heroes

I Have The Power!!!

Entrepreneurs Are Super Heroes Entrepreneurs are super heroes. No, seriously, they are! Anyone remember “He-Man”? It was a cartoon from back in the 80’s. One of his main phrases that he said was “I have the power!!!” As we head into the 3rd month of this new year, for some reason that phrase popped into my head…. In January, most people are energized and fixated on creating their “best year yet“. In February, most people are starting to feel bad…

Typical Employees Aren’t Entrepreneurs

Always remember that they are not like you. Build your systems. If they can’t adapt, they don’t belong. In May, 2013 I bought an assisted living facility. I love the lady who I bought it from. She was 70 years old, and had run it for 27 years. She had made a lot of money and was what most would consider a success. Her employees especially considered her one. They adored her. The previous owner though was a micro manager.…

Procrastination Kills Dreams

One procrastination could have drastically changed my life. It’s that simple. It was November of 2010. I was working with a friend in care management, facility management, and marketing. I had come on board with this man to learn from him and from his 20+ years of experience. I was loving every second of it. We were swamped! But I still had the entrepreneurial itch. So, I decided to go back into real estate investing to scratch that itch, ¬†and…

Which employee is better?

Ah, good old Dwight Schrute. He’s one of my favorite characters of all time, and I would very carefully and cautiously say that “The Office” was one of the best shows of all time as well (No need to offend Seinfeld lovers, or Friends lovers… etc. etc.) The thing that was amazing about Dwight was that even though he was crazy about how he went about accomplishing things, he still managed to be successful as a sales person in that…

Habits and Perception

I think that it’s really interesting how our perceptions and habits can guide what we do and how we do things. I noticed this big time this weekend with something that happened to me specifically. I immediately realized what I did, and figured that I just had to write about it. At our house, we have two trash cans. One is a large brown one and that’s for trash. One is a large green one, and that’s for all recycling.…

You can change your life in one short year

I get asked a lot by people how they can change something that they hate about their life. It may be their job, the hours they work, amount of responsibility, etc. Most of the time though it’s a question about how they can leave their job and start their own business. How can I do it without risking too much? What if it doesn’t work? Can I do it part time? How do I plan? How do I make the…

Perception is everything in marketing. . . .

So just recently I went to eat lunch at “Potbelly Sandwiches”. If you haven’t been, I highly suggest it. The place was started in Chicago, and they make an amazing sandwich, and a great salad! It’s a pretty cool place overall. At their busier times, they have a musician sitting there playing and singing. It really gives the atmosphere a very different feel than most restaurants. The young man playing guitar that afternoon was really good. Great voice, good guitar…
